For many of you, your fantasy sports draft will always be the standard snake format, but for a few of you, another great option is out there. An auction draft can be one of the most fun things about a fantasy season. It takes skill, some luck, and a good deal of strategy.
Each person is given 200 dollars to spend on their teams. Each player is put up for auction one at a time. The best players, Adrian Peterson, Arian Foster, and Chris Johnson can go up to 65 dollars. Where guys at the end of the draft will go for just a dollar. This gives everyone a shot at every player. No one can complain and say I didn't even get a chance at AP. You can make people bet high on players you don't even want by betting over and over driving the price up. Using strategy you can save money for the middle rounds when people are out of money themselves. It all depends on your strategy.
If you want to change things up this season try a few auction mock drafts. They take longer than the standard snake draft, but you may find you will never go back!
I am doing one of both this season. I liked the Auction Mock drafts that I did.
